Belleville Antique American Glass and Pottery Show & Sale
Merchandise Information
A wide variety of merchandise is always on hand at the show. Early American Pattern Glass, Carnival Glass, Depression Glass, Elegant Glass, Kitchen Glass, and 40's-50's-60's Glass will all be represented. In addition, various patterns of American made dinnerware and pottery will also be there. However, since the inventory of each dealer is always changing, it is impossible to determine if a specific pattern or piece will show up. We can guarantee that everything for sale will be authentic, antique merchandise. No reproductions are allowed. We are proud of the quality and integrity of all our dealers, and stake the reputation of our show on their shoulders. Please come visit us to see what the dealers will have for you to buy this year. Show DealersThis list contains the dealers attended the show in June, 2010. Although we can't guarantee all of them will be back for the June 12-13,2011 show, we believe most of them will be.

Al Ray Zipfel Location and DirectionsThe show and sale is held at the Belle-Clair Fairgrounds in Belleville, IL. We're only 20 minutes from the St. Louis Arch and Riverfront. The street address is 200 South Belt East, Belleville. Directions from the East: Follow I-64 east towards St. Louis. Go to exit 12, Illinois Route 159. Go south (left) at the end of the ramp. Route 159 has lots of stores and stop lights, but it is the most direct route. Follow it south through Swansea and Belleville. You'll have to go "halfway" around the fountain in the center of Belleville, and continue going south. At South Belt East (also known as Illinois Route 13 and Illinois Route 158), turn left. There are gas stations on two of the corners, and you'll probably see the sign for the fairgrounds across the intersection. After turning on South Belt East, the fairgrounds are on your right-hand side. Directions from the North: Follow I-255 south. Go to exit 17A, Illinois Route 15. It will merge you onto eastbound Route 15. Follow past Our Lady of the Snows Shine towards Belleville. Exit at Illinois Route 159, turn north (left) at the end of the ramp. Go to the first stop light, which is South Belt East (also known as Illinois Route 13 and Illinois Route 158), turn right. There are gas stations on two of the corners. After turning on South Belt East, the fairgrounds are on your right-hand side. Directions from the West: Get on Illinois Route 15. Follow past Our Lady of the Snows Shine towards Belleville. Exit at Illinois Route 159, turn north (left) at the end of the ramp. Go to the first stop light, which is South Belt East (also known as Illinois Route 13 and Illinois Route 158), turn right. In 2011, that means Saturday, June 11th and Sunday, June 12th. Our show hours are longer on Saturday than they are on Sunday. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and close at 5:00 p.m. On Sunday, we open at 11:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m. Our building at the fairgrounds is totally air-conditioned and handicapped accessible. We feature door prizes every hour and good food to help you through a busy day of shopping. We will also have Paul & Pat Randolph on hand to grind chips out of your glass. Pat & Sharon Ervin will present a wide variety of books for sale. Their inventory concentrates on glassware, dinnerware, pottery, and some price guides. Admission is $5.00 for adults, and children under 12 are free. There is no charge for parking at the fairgrounds. Plan on coming to see us, and spend the whole day....we'd love to have you! Glass Displays
Continuing the tradition that the Illinois-Missouri Glass & China Club started when this show began in 1983, we will again have glass displays. Always a crowd hit, the club will provide several table settings. In the past, they've shown off Saturn in the zircon color, tangerine Empress, pink and green Twist, and crystal Stanhope (just to name a few). All of us, dealers included, look forward to seeing what patterns and colors will be shown this year. Also this year, the National Depression Glass Association (NDGA) will be displaying their "Pitcher Collection". The Collection was established one year ago in honor of "Our Lost Children". As pitchers come in all shapes, sizes, and colors; so do our children. There are currently 71 pitchers that have been donated in memory or honor of children. Look for these at the front of the room, near the ticket table when you come in the door. Glass IdentificationAs we did in 2010, we will be offering Glass Identification at the show in 2011. We will have our "panel of experts" ready to do their best to identify pieces and patterns of antique glassware, ranging from the late 1800's to the 1960's. This service will be available from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. We ask that you limit yourself to three pieces for this process. If you wish to participate, we'll have you sign in at the door, and pick up a number. We'll call numbers in groups of ten. We've found this to be an effective system at other shows--you can still shop the show instead of waiting in a line! We can't guarantee that we'll be able to ID each and every piece, but we'll give it our best shot. All glass dealers love to play "Name That Glass"!! Guest AuthorsWe are pleased and proud to once again have Danny Cornelius and Don Jones with us as guest authors. They have written two books so far, and more are "in the works" as they say. Currently, they are the authors of American Pattern Glass Table Sets and Early American Pattern Glass Cake Stands & Serving Pieces. Danny and Don have been in the business for many years, and can answer almost any questions on Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG). They will have their books with them for you to purchase, and they'll be happy to autograph them for you. Additionally, we are also pleased and proud to have Thomas Smith at our show as a guest author. For over 100 years, the Fenton Art Glass Company has been producing high quality and unusual pieces of glassware. Tom has written Early Fenton Rarities 1907-1938, documenting those hard to find pieces of the early Fenton years. Tom has also been in the glass business for many years, and knows more about Fenton glassware than almost anyone we know. He will also have his book with him to buy, and he'll gladly autograph it for you. |
